- Line-voltage (120V) — for large properties, flagpoles, sport courts, and long runs where voltage drop beats 12V physics. Requires conduit, burial depth, and a permit — real electrical construction.
Designing Light, Not Fixtures
Good design layers three things: uplighting on trees and facade texture (live oaks take uplight beautifully), path lighting that guides without runway vibes, and task/security zones — the grill, the gate, the dark side yard.
